What would The Economist look like if it were written from a Japanese perspective? Probably something like this. The articles are interesting and well-written. I especially appreciated the entire issue dedicated to the World Bank and IMF talks held in Japan in 2012. The app itself is a pleasure to use, and individual issues are small enough that they can be downloaded over even expensive mobile networks instead of waiting to find a wireless hotspot. Since they are small, you can store back-issues without worrying about consuming all the storage space on your iOS device.

For a publication that aspires to be great, they sure fall far from the mark. The app and content are OK, but not worth the price. Theres also no way to contact them, other than to an anonymous email account. Theres not even a phone line for Japanese speakers, so good luck solving a problem if they make a mistake with your credit card. Get your news elsewhere...

An excellent insight review of Asias economy! But why in the hell someone has to download again and again editions which have been already downloaded? I have spent hours to download all available 27+ editions, each of them more than 75MB, only to discover that periodically they are lost! Completely! I havent yet figured out when it happens; whether after updates of the app or due to other unknown reasons. I like to read the publication offline at my convenience and also to re-read previously downloaded editions! PLEASE FIX IT ! Then you will get 5 stars!

I cant even know whether or not its a good app cause it wont even open.. I would enjoy to see the app but I cant. I will write another review once I can see the app...

Im a former subscriber to the print edition of the Nikkei Weekly which was discontinued to make this publication. Im very disappointed in the direction this publication has taken, not to mention the amateurish app. Im interested in reading business news as it applies to Japan not Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam etc. Ill be deleting this app and looking for another publication to fill the void. Sad.
